Woodstock Records & Ulster County Community College Collaborate On Cd Project :
In October 2007, Professor Sean Nixon, Asst. Prof. of Art, Graphic Design Program, at Ulster County Community College was looking for a new project for his Design 2 class and through student (Stephen Richards), he contacted Woodstock Records to collaborate on a CD package. Woodstock Records was looking for some fresh ideas for artwork for Professor Louie & The Crowmatix new compilation CD "As The Crow Flies" which had just been recorded. Marie Spinosa, Art Director for Woodstock Records, met with the design students on five Tuesdays in Nov. & Dec.'07 explaining all the various components needed for putting together a CD package. At the close of the semester, the students presented creative and innovative CD designs to Marie Spinosa and Professor Louie. After much consideration, Jeff Heotzler's CD design was chosen for "As The Crow Flies" and the CD and artwork have already garnered much acclaim since being released by Woodstock Records in February '08. This Community-Real Work Project was a wonderful experience and the winning CD design was presented as part of the Design Show at Ulster County Community College in April 2008.
