My brother from PA sent me Century of the Blues and Jam for Christmas because I'm a big fan of the blues.  He's called me twice to check in to see how much I enjoyed them.  He's a BIG fan and says you guys know him as Billy Star.  He catches you when you are in Sellersville.  I love your music, especially Century.  Miss Marie rocks!  I followed the link on Woodstock Records to YouTube and just watched your version of Motherless Child w/ the Empire State Youth Chorale is powerful!  Thanks for makin the music!

I enjoyed the Crowmatix' contribution to the Second Annual Rick Danko Tribute in Simcoe, Ontario last night, and only wish that its set had been longer. As per my brief comment to Prof. Louie at the Merchandise Table after the set, I'd like to see more Ontario dates on the group's schedule. I've already traveled to London and Simcoe to see them over the last few years, as well as their (I believe) sole Toronto appearance. At a minimum, I hope that Crowmatix will participate in the (expected) Third Annual Tribute, in a year's time. Lastly, if you have an email circulation list, please add this email address to it. Thanks.

Louie , Pat was listening to John Platt's City Folk Breakfast show on WFUV (Fordham U. Radio) Sunday morning. He was celebrating the 10th anniversary of his radio show. Throughout the morning he was playing clips from performers that played in Studio A. Pat said he played Rick Danko singing "Twilight" with you accompanying him. That's my favorite version of the song; it was on one of WFUV's Live In Studio A CD's (gift for membership).

Congratulations for "making the cut" on the Anniversary Show.
Rick (and Pat) Sinclair

Thanks for being part of the celebration. You guys did a great job.
Please thank everyone for me - we had a great time hanging with ya'll :)

Hello Gary, Just wanted to say I think your drumming on Mr. Luck is one of the more inspirational drum parts I have heard in my 51 yrs. of drumming........

-- Tom Farley Land Design Inc.

Professor Louie and Miss Marie- if I had a soapbox this is what I would tell the residents of Rockland and Orange County, N.Y.: come see the Crowmatix at the Turning Point, Piermont (Rockland) on Saturday February 10th and at Bodles, Chester (Orange Co., appearing with Commander Cody) on Saturday, February 24th. This band will blow you away playing their mix of country rock/blues/gospel/folk (and a few sea shanteys thrown in). Professor Louie is a unique keyboard player, but if I had to describe him I'd cite a combination of Jerry Lee Lewis, Billy Preston and Stevie Winwood. He can be a very soulful singer. When you see him play accordion you think accordions were always in country rock bands. Louie and Miss Marie are creative and prolific songwriters of the highest caliber. Miss Marie doesn't just sing her creations, she conveys pictures and emotions; she's a consummate performer. Drummer Gary Burke and Bass Player/Vocalist Frank Campbell lay the grooves for one of the tightest bands you'll ever hear. Josh Colow, Lead Guitar, plays an economical rock in the style of Robbie Robertson. The Crowmatix have their own unique sound (think Rick Danko and The Band) and can throw off high voltage, so bring your dancing shoes. They are so versatile you never know when they'll throw in a Grateful Dead or Ray Charles number.

Rick Sinclair - Suffern, NY

Dec. 20th 2006 - Just a quick note to let you know that your music is being featured on the special "Christmas Edition" of The Great American Music Hour. This is our last show of the year, and I want to thank you personally for being part of it. This year we've had more than 25,000 listeners in a few dozen countries, and we'll be back in 2007 with a lot more great independent rock, folk, singer songwriter and Americana music, so expect to hear from us again. Until then have a great holiday season, and thanks, as always, for being part of the show.
Jerry Jodice, host
The Great American Music Hour

Professor Louie ,
You and the band were great!!! And thanks for the gift of the holiday CD. If you want my opinion, I'd say that MELODIES OF PEACE has both "Top 40" and "Christmas Classic" written all over it. If you haven't done so, I would suggest making every attempt to get copies into the hands of music directors at all of the "big city" rock and country radio stations, if not this year, then next November. Subject: "Thank You"

Just wanted to say "Thank You" again for the wonderful show you guys did for us at KClinger's. I have to admit, I never heard of your band before and after reading the bio's, I knew we would hear excellent talented musicans but it wouldn't be all blues. Well, I was right. We had blues and more! We get our share of axe grinders so it was just a real pleasure to hear your band. "Wow, thanks I needed that." I'm a salesman on the road, so I had the two cd's I bought gettin' a workout all day. As I told Louie last night, I will push Bill to have you back ASAP. More people need to hear what you have to offer.

Thanks again, hope to see ya real soon, Mike Knott

From: Pat Whalen - Fri, 30 Dec 2005 18:45:40 -0500 Subject: Happy New Year!!! Hi Louie -
Thanks so much for sending us a copy of your rendition of "Frosty the Snowman." All of us here enjoyed it immensely. I took it home with me and I played it incessantly all through the holidays together with the song you did last year with the Chambers School Choral Ensemble, "Holiday Time is Here." I think they're both great. We all really appreciate you thinking of us and sending them to us.

Let me also take this opportunity to thank you for the wonderful concert you did for us. I should have done so a long, long time ago, but it's just been too busy for me to find the time. As usual, you put on an outstanding show. That kid, Josh, is amazing with that guitar. The whole band is superb. All of you are not only gifted musicians but wonderful people who are a pleasure to work with. We really had a stroke of good fortune when we hooked up with you guys, and we're hoping we'll have many more opportunities to work with you. I will be looking forward to having the opportunity to see you in concert again soon, Louie. You never fail to put on a sensational show. Until then, I want to wish you, Miss Marie and all the other members of the band a very, very Happy New Year!!!!

Holiday Greeting/Hudson Valley Shows

Happy Holidays to the Crowmatix- P.Louie, Miss Marie, Gary, Josh C. and Frankie C. Thanks for one of the best shows we've seen- the Spirit of Woodstock Show at the NY State Museum in Albany featuring Tom "Bones" Malone's Brass and Larry Packard. The CD came out great too. Looking forward to the upcoming shows in the Hudson Valley in late January and February. Nothing compares to Louie rattling the keys and Miss Marie's soulful performances (love to watch her). Some of the best song-writing from these two and they're so versatile. Louie, how about a little Ray Charles at one of the shows.

To the whole Band! You guys were GREAT!!!!! I just wanted to Thank you so much for the best show Ellenville ever had! and that is not just from me, but from the towns people, you guys Rocked Ellenville. Thank you so very much for doing the show and for the CDs and photos. Your the best. I hope you will come back next year, if so, I will let you know the date & time soon. Hugs to all - Blueberry Barb

07/07/05 Just a quick note of appreciation to Prof. Louie, Miss Marie and the Crowmatix. The Crowmatix added the brass (trumpet, sax and the great Tom "Bones" Malone) and some perecussion and whistles from the Amtrak and Metro-North trains punctuating the evening. "Tears of the Cloud" actually finished with the train arrival. Great evening, although the skies threatened there was no rain. Great to see the Chris C. Clan and some familiar faces of Crowmatix fans and friends of Louie from his Peekskill days. Couldn't have been a better night thanks to the Crowmatix and the Riverfest sponsors.
Thanks so much.
Rick S. and Pat (and our neighbor Donna)

05/24/05 - I just wanted to drop a line and say how much appreciation I have for Louie, Marie and all the folks in the band, not to mention everyone behind the scenes at Woodstock Records for all you do. I caught the band in Fall River at the Narrow Arts Center a week or so ago. My brothers best friend Tony Mederez sits in and plays guitar when they come to town. This makes it even more special for me. My brother plays drums with Tony, it is magical to hear them, never mind when Tony is playing with Louie and gang. I wish they came around this area more, but I can't complain. I know how much work it is to travel from Woodstock to Fall River and set up equipment and all the other crazy stuff that goes on. They sounded as good as any other time I have seen them, and or listened to them. So, I guess all this rambling on boils down to how much all of us appreciate their effort. All of you guys, the band and everyone at Woodstock Records seems to be the only real deal left around for this type of music. I hope that 20 years from now you guys will still be around supporting this type of music, so that maybe my children can enjoy a Rick Danko ballad, or maybe Miss Marie belting out a blazing piece of blues. I wish to thank you for taking time out of your valuable day to read these ramblings. Keep up the excellent work,
Thank you,

Bob Hann

04/10/05 - Professor Louie and Marie and the Crowmatix - thanks for the great show at Bodles in Chester, New York. Loved the Dylan thread- "Gotta Serve Somebody," "Forever Young" and "Blind Willie McTell." No one performs like Miss Marie! Come back this way soon.

Hi Crowmatix
Heard/saw you guys at john & peter's in new hope (3/24/05) and i plan to be in the audience again on april 15.

I loved you folks!....oh journeyed singing poetics of eternal pan-terran folk-universal spirit consciousness (whatever that means or doesn't mean) plus y'all sounded wonderful & rocked or something :)

thanks SO much for playing my request--'shake yer moneymaker'...it really cheered-up my housemate whose heart has been badly wounded in love recently.

I learned about yer band via pen-pal stephen verba of cleveland ohio...we both love 'The Band' so one day he asked "have ya heard 'Prof. Louie & the Crowmatix' and is a club called john & peter's near you?".....i said "no & yeah J & P's is 2 minutes from my door and i play there often"....so i got yer 'Over The Edge' CD & found yer website, then heard you in 3-D tonight!

Rick Danko,,what a great bass playing style! And, what a voice. My favorite BAND tune of all time is "It Makes No Difference",, and it's because of Rick Danko's delivery... it absolutely blew me away the first time I ever saw it on The Last Waltz...
especially this phrase: Bb Well, I love you so much Fm7 It's all I can do Eb C7 Just to keep myself from telling you
Bb Gm Eb F Bb Eb Bb That I never felt so alone before

I have a shirt signed by Rick Danko. I'd like to give it to a family member or a museum, if possible. I worked for Rick and Elizabeth in the 70's and early 80's. I saw a PO BOX # for Justin in your history. Can you have someone reach me?

You guys rocked my friends Jimmy and Melissa's wedding. Great job ! A perfect mix of keeping the older folks happy with slower numbers and lower volume and getting the younger crowded wound up at the right times. Don't hear Scarlet Begonias or a rockin versin of slow train coming at many weddings. Thanks again for your part in making it a killer night.
